CHICAGO, IL - We repositioned a fixture of Chicago's "Miracle Mile" to reclaim its former reputation as a coveted residential and business address on Michigan Avenue.
Even while 737 North Michigan is home to Neiman Marcus, celebrity residents and international commercial tenants, it had lost its luster over the years. The building, accessed from a cross street, had to be reinvented to increase occupancy, visibility from Michigan Ave, and its relevance in the office market – all while keeping the building fully operational.
The approach to overclad the stone with warm wood panels allowed us to transform the existing wall finishes while saving construction time and reducing noise and disruption. The walls were enhanced by a new cream-colored stone floor, soft accent finishes and a sculptured ceiling that reflects light and creates a warm, inviting ambiance. Lighting and hanging infrastructure for a rotating art program, and a new entry and sidewalk design, completed the transformation.
